Terms of Use
Last updated: October 5, 2026
These Terms of Use apply to your use of Vermont Lifestyle (vermontlifestyle.com, “the site”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
What the site provides
The site publishes free guides and tutorials about sewing and craft projects made from fabric scraps. The instructions are provided as general guidance, for information and personal enjoyment. We work to keep the instructions clear and the measurements accurate, but we do not guarantee that every guide is free of errors or that you will get a particular result by following it. Times and difficulty levels are estimates.
Safety
Sewing involves sharp tools and heat. Rotary cutters, scissors, pins, needles and sewing machines can cut or puncture, and irons and fusible products can burn. Use your tools with care, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for each tool and material, and close or cover a rotary cutter blade whenever it is not in your hand. You follow the tutorials at your own risk, and you are responsible for deciding whether a project is suitable for you.
- Children. Children should be supervised by an adult at all times, particularly for any step involving cutting tools, a sewing machine or an iron.
- Pot holders and other items used near heat. Use heat-resistant materials: 100% cotton fabric, thread and batting, plus an insulating layer. Follow the material guidance in the tutorial and from the manufacturer of your batting and insulating layer. Synthetic fabrics, threads and battings can melt, so they are not suitable for these projects. A handmade pot holder is not a certified heat-protection product; check it before use and replace it when it is worn or thin.
- Small parts. Buttons, beads, snaps and similar small parts can be a choking hazard and are not suitable for children under three. Sachets, pincushions and decorative items are not toys.
What you make is yours
The things you sew or make by following the tutorials belong to you. You are welcome to keep them, give them away or sell them.
